hardest thing about blogging is….

Posted by Pukhtana on 29 December, 2011

…the design of the blog! During my 6 years of blogging i could only ever get focused on writing when i had my blog looking in such a manner that comforted me. That looked nice.

It is a visual representation of your online identity, and before being anonymous, it was ok, i could do what i want, but the more and more people know you and real life people discover who you are and all that, it starts to feel uncomfortable. Stage fright.

I want to return to blogging especially now that it is alot easier to blog through email, then to use the silly complicated wordpress app, but i need my website to “look right”.

Frick! Hope my manager doesn’t see this site!

Argh in a stupid passing conversation about Rahman Baba I sort of told my manager I have a blog, oh shit I kinda like my privacy, I mean my anonymity and don’t want my colleagues looking at my blog……Thank god he is blind!

Not like I update it at all anyway!

If I filled it with the many thoughts n drama’s that go on in my personal n professional life, it would take up more pages then the good old days when there used to be an actual paper based encyclopaedia. Lol!

I still remember in school a friend of my mine showing off about her dad buying her the full volume/set of “encyclopaedia brittanica” or whatever it was called then! And and thinking Samatha darling, your daddy wasted his money. Lol and me smugly taking out my iPhone 4, ( many years later) not at that exact point in my flashback cos that would mean I have a time machine, which I dont.

If I had a time machine…….

I would probably go back in time into my own life and intervene in a way and at such a time just before it spiralled out of control.

If you could go back in time what age and time would you go to?

I think I have made soooooooo many mistakes in life, that I’d spend the rest of this life travelling in a time
Machine to correct those mistakes and the knock on effects.

I would also try to teach myself some “truths” about humans, that not many of them are sincere and genuine, and sometimes we spend our lives looking for that right person to share our idealistic future hopes, and all we do is completely overlook those sitting by us all along.

I would also teach myself that there are some very very horrid supposed god fearing people, but they are not that at all and instead of loosing hope be thankful that you have the faith and patience to see that god will give them their just desserts.

Ah how I miss the blogging world, and to just release my emotions and thoughts into the wonderous web world and gain a small satisfaction in doing so, even though no one will understand what the hell I am on about or give a shit!

Decisions, decisions, decisions!

As above ^, although not about what to wear for eid, infact have not even had time to think about eid!
Instead there are way to many things to think about that are minor in comparision but seem to occupy my thoughts never the less.

Such as should I get a spell check? Should I continue with my current mobile phone service provider? Should I go into work next week InshAllah or should I bother to do work at work?

Should I go to sleep or stay awake, do I enjoy the long weekend or just sleep it away?

Should I make a return to the blogging world or should I not? I keep coming and going and maybe I should just stay…..

Big mistake….

Ever get the feeling you have made a big mistake….a big, BIG mistake?

Ouch, erm……how/ what is classified as a big mistake?

I classify a big mistake as: the feeling u get that if by way of some miracle from god, you could go back in time and make a completely different choice and thus avoid that which lead you to that point in time where you started to wish you could go back to the past.

That though is not the full definition of a big mistake, the defining point is that: no matter how much you wish for this to occur, it won’t, and this wishful thinking lingers on. Therefore the feeling sinks in that, this is ultimately a BIG mistake.

There are those moments in life we feel like that but through the passage of time that feeling goes, that is just doubt but when that feeling lingers constantly. You have made a mistake.

A BIG mistake.

Must have Islamic / Quran Sites/software

Probably the best online islamic resources i have EVER come across, don’t say there is never any means to learn, and when you do learn APPLY what you learn inshAllah, and may Allah guide us all:

Quran recitation /memorisation :

http://www.imaanstar.com/

and http://www.imaanstar.com/juz30.php download this programme ( http://www.imaanstar.com/downloads/download.php?file=juz30_v22.exe) and then the sets of surahs for the different recitors – i recommend al afasy.

This programme is SO EASY to use and looks simple and WORKS, just put the in the daily time and effort, and try to learn the translation too if you don’t understand Arabic.

Recitation / Understanding of the actual arabic text:

http://www.allahsquran.com/learn/

Please use these sites and softwares, and learn your deen and implement it in your life as much as you can inshAllah.

Take care all.

a poet once said – imam rumi fihi ma fihi

poet once said:
You are more precious than heaven and earth.
What more can I say?
You do not know your own worth.
God says, “I will buy you…your moments,
your breaths, your possessions, your lives. Spend
them on Me. Turn them over to Me, and their
price is divine freedom, grace and wisdom. This is
your worth in My eyes.” But if we keep our life
for ourself, then we lose what treasures we have
been granted.
