a poet once said – imam rumi fihi ma fihi

Posted in My Blog on 12 October, 2009 by Pukhtana

poet once said:
You are more precious than heaven and earth.
What more can I say?
You do not know your own worth.
God says, “I will buy you…your moments,
your breaths, your possessions, your lives. Spend
them on Me. Turn them over to Me, and their
price is divine freedom, grace and wisdom. This is
your worth in My eyes.” But if we keep our life
for ourself, then we lose what treasures we have
been granted.

What it means to be a Real Pashtun….. show your support!!!!

I have had enough……… i shall say it clearly………. I am firstly a muslim, and i am very proudly a PUKHTANA, a PASHTANA but i am NOT and will never call myself  a PAKISTANI or AFGHANISTANI.

I have had it with so called pakistani pukhtuns who would rather kiss the back sides of punjabiyan and declare themselves as pakistani, and want to be defined in the same category as the idiots from karachi like ALTAF Hussain and co who wouldnt even let our pukhtun MUSLIM brothers and sisters into karachi even though they themselves were bloody immigrants from dei hindu mother land india.

Secondly i hate so called  Afghani pukhtuns who wud rather kiss the backsides of the farsiwans who will tell them to their face that we hate your language pashto and then when that is not enough they will  come up with excuses to defend the farsiwans saying can u blame them for hating our language cos they are ruled by us, no dudes u are being ruled by their language, that is why u can speak farsi and they cant speak pashto cos u have to learn their language and they dont give a shit abt yours, same goes to pakistani pukhtuns that know everything about urdu and when you tell them to read or write pashto they don’t know jack!!!!

WHERE ARE THE REAL PUKHTUNS, the ones that can live amongst anyone but not loose themselves and always remain true to all pukhtuns in lar ow bar Afghanistan ( in the true sense) – Pukhtunistan???

The ones that can learn any language but not side with a farsiwan or punjabi over a puktun??!!! WHY are there so few of US????????

If you are a real pukhtun, someone like me who has had to ditch both the afghan and pakistan label cos it is not representative of real pukhtuns anymore please leave a comment so i know i am not the only one that is getting annoyed with this!!!!

600 Pakistani families migrate to Khost: Afghan govt
Updated at
Monday, August 03, 2009

By our correspondent

PESHAWAR: The Afghan government on Sunday claimed that some 600 Pakistani families belonging to North Waziristan had migrated to Khost province to escape fighting in their area.

Wali Rehman Syedzai, chief of Refugee Affairs in Khost in southern Afghanistan, told the Afghan Islamic Press that the government of Afghanistan would spare no effort in providing assistance to the Pakistani refugees. He said the Pakistanis had come from the Dattakhel area in North Waziristan.

Terming the security situation as the main obstacle in providing relief goods to the affected people, Syedzai said: “We wanted to help them as soon as possible. But the security situation is not satisfactory in Khost province. Attacks are being frequently conducted on Khost City. Spera is a far-flung district in the province and the worsening security situation is also hindering efforts to assist the refugees.”

Syedzai expressed the hope that the World Food Programme (WFP) would also extend help to the refugees, adding that soldiers of the Afghan National Army had distributed food items among the Pakistani refugees. He alleged that Pakistani border forces were not allowing the people to migrate to Afghanistan but some still managed to cross the border.

It may be added that earlier a large number of Pakistani tribal people crossed over to Afghanistan from the tribal areas of Bajaur, Kurram and South Waziristan to escape the fighting. Some of the displaced Pakistanis are still living in Kunar, Nuristan, Paktika and Khost provinces in Afghanistan. Pakistani authorities had denied reports that Pakistanis from Kurram Agency had taken refuge in Afghanistan but no denial was issued regarding the displaced Pakistani tribesmen from South Waziristan and Bajaur.

You can read her poems here, but bear in mind she is British born and bred and yet has come up with such mesmerising poetry that i can only pray she further develops her talent inshAllah.

Online Quran Tutors Tajweed and Tarteel lessons!

Posted in My Blog with tags , , , , , , , on 14 June, 2009 by Pukhtana

I have discovered, although slightly late, that you can learn the quran online with a tutor.

The quality of teaching is very good, and mostly you can get 30 min lessons though you do have to if you don’t speak languages like Urdu bear with the slightly rough English as most of the tutors are from Pakistan, and their explanations on where you pronounce/form the letters in the mouth(makhrij/makharij) can be slightly off if you don’t have a basic understanding of the Arabic Alphabet.

I know that people have taken these lessons and have sucessfully learnt to recite the quran but what i really really really feel is being lost, is the essence of teaching the quran for free!

Islam is not a religion only for those that can afford it, and is not to be sold and marketed like i think it is being with these tutors. It is not a business where they are making a profit, i am sorry but that really does hurt me, i have lived in pakistan i am aware of prices there but i am 100% certain alot of these prices are set to make  profit. That is wrong.

My mum says to me that in her village, and i think a lot of the villages/areas in Pukhtunkhwa, you went to the mosque or to the house of the quran teacher, and they taught you, they gave you their time, and expected what in return? That you learn, and that you practice and that Allah rewards them.

At the end of each major step in the learning process, e.g. finishing the qaidah, finishing the recitation of the whole Quran, Khatam, the mothers or family of the student would give a gift to the Teacher or give a seasonal or yearly gift as a token of gratitude and respect, the teachers were happy with that, the greater reward was and always is from Allah.

Now with these online tutors, sorry don’t make selling the Quran or the knowledge of it a business, and it is a business when you are profiting financially.

One tutor, Allahamdulliah a Hafiz blessed by Allah with knowledge of the Quran reciation, said to me, we are not selling the Quran we are taking expenses, for our time, our internet costs and electricity costs.

I can appreciate what he is saying except when he said, i will need to discuss any changes in prices with my “partners”, basically there are groups of them teaching from the same computer, same connection – therefore costs should be lower!

Really though, i am waiting for the Ultimate Quran Tutor, the one that says yeah i will teach the quran, and i will do it for free or a minimal fee that really does just cover my costs and only that.

Why are you taking costs for your time? Is not the reward of Allah better then a financial gain that you have sacrificed your time, that is dawah, you are getting sawab for it without realising it!!

There is a  hadith:

Sahi Bukhari, Vol 9, Book 90. Wishes. Hadith 338.
Narrated By Abu Huraira : Allah’s Apostle said, “Not to wish to be the like except of two men. A man whom Allah has given the (knowledge of the) Qur’an and he recites it during the hours of night and day and the one who wishes says: If I were given the same as this (man) has been given, I would do what he does, and a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the just and right way, in which case the one who wishes says, ‘If I were given the same as he has been given, I would do what he does.’”

The above hadth clearly shows the great blessing in reciting the final message to mankind, and the reward for those that taught it, especially those that do it for free has to be substantial!

Everytime someone you have taught, recites you get a copy of that sawab, any good action that comes out of it, you get a copy for free! Is that incentive not enough, i am not saying that you do not have the right to ask for compensation for your time, but who can compensate better then Allah, and can there be such a imaandar person that would say yeah i will teach for free!

Is such a person out there?
