The Great Game – A play about Afghanistan in a London Theatre

Just seen an article on the BBC News site about a new drama play in a London Theatre called “The Great Game”

The play is about Afghanistan, and even has a scene from when the Durrand line was being formed, as the site says

“A London theatre is hosting a two-month festival aimed at giving audiences a better understanding of the culture and history of a country rising ever higher up the global news agenda – Afghanistan.

The director Nicolas Kent of the Tricycle theatre where the play is performed at said

“Afghanistan is likely to be the most important focus of British, European and American foreign policy for at least the rest of this decade.”

And so he apparently wants to make the audiences think about politics, he has previously made plays about guntanamo and Darfur.

To book tickets or have more information on dates see the Tricycle Theatre site, I inshAllah intend to go.
